How to Participate

The best part about the Chicago Yarn Crawl, is you get to decide how you want to do it! Below is a list of what every shop offers during the crawl. Plan your tour, and mix and match how you want to participate!

  • Passports - Our Yarn Crawl Passports will be available to download the first day of the crawl. Print it out to get a stamp for every store you visit! The passport is great guide for shop information and to make notes about each shop, like which ones you want to visit, what yarn you purchased from each shop, and your favorite thing about your visit!

  • CYC Swag - This year’s CYC swag is available from your local yarn shop! Be sure to check with your local yarn shop for availability. 

  • Free Buttons - You can collect your free shop buttons by visiting a shop during the CYC dates.

  • Free Patterns - Each shop offers a free original pattern available for crawlers. You can download the free patterns by stopping in the shop, or by visiting each individual shop’s website.

  • Events - Individual shops will also be hosting events, be sure to check our Event Calendar for to see what’s happening and where!

  • Raffle Baskets - Scroll down to learn how to enter to win one of our many raffle baskets.

  • Yarn Crawl Discount - Each Shop will offer 10% off all yarn (excluding sale items).

Health and Safety

We ask that you please respect and follow each shop’s Safety Guidelines. Be sure to check in with the shops you plan on visiting for any regulations they may require, such as, mask requirements and/or maximum number of guests allowed in the shop.

How to Enter for the RAFFLE Baskets

There are several ways you can enter to win a raffle basket, please read below on how to enter. All raffle basket winners will be notified via email.

Shop Raffle Basket

Each shop is putting together a unique basket for the raffle! You can check out each shop’s basket by stopping in the shop and checking out their social media!

How to Enter the Raffle: You can enter the Shop Raffle Baskets by stopping into the shop and entering in person. These raffle prizes will be announced by individual shops at the end of the crawl.

Chicago Yarn Crawl Sponsored Basket

We are excited and thankful for the many sponsors who contribute to make the Chicago Yarn Crawl special!

How to Enter the Raffle: To enter the Chicago Yarn Crawl Sponsored baskets, you must be registered for the 2023 Chicago Yarn Crawl on our website. When you visit a shop, scan the unique CYC QR code, enter your information, and click submit! The more shops you visit, the more chances you win! All raffle basket winners will be notified via email. The raffle prizes will be announced by the Chicago Yarn Crawl in August.

Please Remember

  • Must be 18 years of age or older to enter into the raffle baskets.

  • You can only enter the raffle as yourself. We will not accept entries on behalf of another individual.

  • If you are an out-of-state winner, the prize will be mailed to you. Local residents, please plan on picking up your prize at your local LYS. Prizes will only be shipped within the US.
