Color Theory Play with Plied Yarns and Friends
Come explore simple, practical color theory in a hands-on, relaxed workshop. We'll talk about types of contrast and look at examples in art, design, and knitting. Then we'll make little log cabin squares to apply what we've learned. Scraps of Plied in all colors will be available for experimentation! We'll talk about picking up stitches, end weaving, and seaming techniques, too. We'll end the workshop with discussions of how to apply what you've learned to other patterns. Bring ideas or works in progress that you'd like to talk about!
Skills needed: Casting on and knitting garter stitch; experience knitting with fingering-weight yarn on small needles—This stays the same.
Materials needed: US size 2 straight, circular or double-pointed needles (DPNs). If you're uncomfortable with US2 needles then US 3 or US 4 will work too. Please download and have available the free Little Log Cabins recipe.
Optional: Fingering-weight yarns from your stash to use with Plied scraps
Homework: None!
